ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1.) Singers wishing to participate must be at least 18 years of age by August 18, 2008. There is no maximum age requirement. Singers will be required to provide proof of age with a Drivers License or ID card if requested to do so. Singers are welcome to audition regardless of their religion, race or creed. 2.) There is no purchase necessary to audition, or compete in the program. 3.) Singers that audition must be available to rehearse, and perform on the dates instructed by the show producer(s). Failure to do so may result in termination from the program. Dates to assume are each Monday (4:00-9:00 P.M.) from June 30-August 18, 2008. Additional make-up dates, caused by show postponements, will be determined mutually amongst the band, and producers. 4.) The following groups of individuals that participated in prior programs are not eligible to participate in the audition process: a. The “Top 3” from the 2004 & 2005 Programs. b. The “Top 10” from the 2006 Program. c. The “Top 20” from the 2007 Program. 5.) By participating in the audition process singers give permission for the program and producer(s) to use their voice and likeness for future promotional, advertisement, and broadcast use. AUDITION PROCEDURE
1.) The Open Audition for the 2008 SE93 Chautauqua Lake Idol will be held on Friday, May 30th @ the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena. Check-In and In-Person Registration will begin at 4:30 P.M., and will close at 6:00 P.M.. Singers that pre-registered online will perform first, in the order that they registered. Singers registering in person will be last to perform, and will perform in the order they registered. Singers will be assigned a number, and will be called to the stage in numeric order starting at 6:00 P.M.. Failure to present themselves within One-Minute of their number being announced will result in the singer being moved to the very end of the audition process. Failure to present themselves after One-Minute at the end will result in their termination from the audition process. 2.) Singers must come prepared to sing a song, of their choice, Acapella (by yourself) for approximately sixty (60) seconds. The producer(s) reserve the right to shorten, or extend the audition time for any given singer. 3.) A panel of volunteer judges will judge singers. These judges have been hand selected, based on their music experience or background in music education, and vocal training. Singers will be judged on the following aspects of music/performance, in which the show producer(s) have deemed appropriate to choose their participants upon: a. Stage Presence, Appearance, Marketability, Range, Pitch, Overall Voice/Vocal Technique, Performance. 4.) All singers must agree to and sign the appropriate Waiver before they can audition. 5.) If selected to participate in the program, singers will be contacted no later than Monday, June 2nd at 5:00 P.M.. Home Phone, Cell Phone, Email and Home Address must be listed on the singer’s waiver. Upon the show producer having to leave a message, the singer will have 48 hours to contact the show producer to accept or decline the invitation to participate in the program. The producer will not contact the singer at their mailing location, however a home address must be supplied on the waiver form. 6.) Judges decisions are final, and will not be disputed. 7.) The show producer(s) have the right to change, or amend the rules at anytime.
