Lee John's Pet Project

Tune into the Lee John Morning Show each Tuesday at 9:20 as a member of the Chautauqua County Humane Society will tell us about the "Pet of the Week" and let us know of any special events going on with the Chautauqua County Humane Society!  Brought to you by Hollyloft Ski & Bike and Viking Trader.

PET OF THE WEEK

The Chautauqua County Humane Society’s Pet of the Week is sponsored by The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.  Pet of the Week animals receive a discounted adoption fee through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

"Sam" is a 3 year old black shorthaired cat that has been at the shelter since March. He is a real sweetie and has been neutered, michrochipped, and all his shots. He is a handsome fellow that is just waiting for someone to give him his "fur-ever" home.

ABOUT THE C.C.H.S.

On January 9, 1905, the Chautauqua County branch of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was incorporated with the mandate to serve the community in the prevention of cruelty to animals. CCHS celebrated its 100th year of service at 9 am on January 5, 2005. While they remain true to the original mission, their vision has changed to include the community in which they operate. It is a vision which empowers our community to help solve today's pet overpopulation problem.

The mission at the Chautauqua County Humane Society, SPCA, is to promote the adoption of animals, prevent all forms of animal cruelty & neglect, and shelter lost, abandoned and homeless animals, and to provide education about the humane treatment of animals.

Their vision is to promote the unique virtues of CCHS so they are able to become ingrained into the fabric of the community in which they operate, which will increase adoptions and customer satisfaction and significantly decrease the number of unwanted animals that enter our community's shelter. The result will be a successful community based “No need to kill shelter.”
