A picture can tell a thousand words; or, in the case of SE93 Chautauqua Lake Idol , 5,000 people! Yes, you read it right! 5,000 Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Warren, and even Erie County residents have packed the shoreline of the Italian Fisherman Restaurant in Bemus Point, New York to witness the largest local vocal talent search, ever!

Any radio station can give you something to listen to; music, news, talk. But only ONE radio station can bring 5,000 listeners to a small village in Southwestern New York, on a Monday night, for a singing contest. Not just any singing contest, but the SE93 Chautauqua Lake Idol Regional Vocal Competition!

SE93 Chautauqua Lake Idol has exploded into being one of the most anticipated events of the summer. This year marks the seventh year for Idol which coincides with the Bemus Bay Pops schedule of events. Chautauqua Lake Idol is organized and presented each year by SE93 Radio (WWSE, 93.3 FM) in Jamestown, New York.

On a typical night one will spot a few recreational boats sailing through the Bemus Bay. However, when SE93 Chautauqua Lake Idol is in progression one can see several vessels anchoring as closely as possible to the stage to get a better look, including the heritage S.S. Chautauqua Belle and the Summer Wind Cruise Ship. The adjacent restaurants are reserved to capacity! The road is blocked off and the shoreline is populated with lawn chairs, blankets, food, drinks, laughter and fun for the entire family!
